History

Travel Health Nurse was started in 2008 by Catherine Keil – a registered nurse and travel health advisor.

Catherine felt there was a need for a website which gave tailor made travel health advice to travellers depending on their specific travel plan i.e. destination(s) (within a country or countries), age, sex, fitness level, length of travel, previous travel experience, medical history etc. Luckily in many parts of the world there are travel health clinics or doctors and nurses who are trained in travel health. However through her travels and work in several areas of the world, Catherine felt there was a lack of up to date travel health advice for many travellers, need it be a family going on a 2 week safari in Tanzania or a gap year student backpacking through South America.

Of course Travel Health Nurse cannot give you the actual vaccinations, but we can make you aware of the vaccinations you should have for your travels.
